When the problems happen only when the engine is cold, the cause is a bad electric sensor. This problem occurs on a fuel injection system car. One of the electronic sensors is gone bad which causes the computer to not functioning properly in calculating the amount of fuel the engine is needed. When the problem happens on cold weather of if the engine is cold means that the sensors is not sensing the cold outside temperature thereby causing the engine to not getting the necessary amount of air/fuel ratio to keep it running on cold temperature.
